Introducing TeachBeyond's New President

David Durance has been chosen as the next TeachBeyond president. The current president, Dr. George Durance, will pass the baton to his son at the April meeting of the Global Committee.

The Committee unanimously approved the recommendation of its search committee that David succeed to the role when George retires.

After consulting with the current leadership team, the Global Committee agreed that the next leader would be entrepreneurial to continue the present growth of TeachBeyond, pastoral to give spiritual leadership, and experienced in both business and education. There also was a clear preference for an internal candidate, who fully understood the mission, our values, vision, and history.

David was widely recognized as the outstanding candidate for the role of the next president of the organization. His spiritual maturity, enthusiasm, background in founding schools in Asia, understanding of our heritage, respected collaborative style of leadership and vision for continued growth make him very well qualified for this challenging role. Following due diligence and an interview, the search committee unreservedly agreed to recommend David. His peers in the leadership team wholeheartedly endorsed the committee’s nomination, and together we believe David is God’s choice.
