Save the Date! June 9-11 is Kilometers for Kids!

How would you like to make a life-changing difference through a few minutes of exercise? On the second weekend of June you will have that opportunity, as Kilometers for Kids, the annual global fundraising event for Open Schools Worldwide is taking place. No matter where you are (or how old you are), by doing a little exercise on that weekend, you can help change the lives of disadvantaged children. 

By running, walking, or cycling any number of kilometers (1 kilometer = 0.62 miles) and getting sponsors to donate an amount per kilometer that you put in, you will generate funds to provide literacy, numeracy, and basic life skills, along with the great news of the Lord Jesus Christ’s saving love to the needy kids that Open Schools is serving. Of course, you can also sponsor yourself, or others that you can encourage to participate. The more kilometers that are covered on June 9-11, the more children will receive life-changing learning! 

Open Schools Worldwide provides this basic education intervention to marginalized children in 11 countries, serving over 8000 children at present.  With the current translation into Portuguese and Spanish, we will be able to help more kids, and already are being asked to come and help in even more countries in other parts of the world. 

Because of the cost-effective nature of our program, we are able to provide this life-changing learning at a one-time cost of only $60 USD per child!  So, a little exercise on one weekend in June can go a long way!
