ESL Coordinator

Masters International School is a bilingual school for students learning in English (70%) and Chinese (30%).  It is designed to meet the need of the Chinese diaspora (and others) for Christian education. We hope to encourage Christian families, reach non-Christian families, and support the advancement of the Great Commission by the Chinese church. 

A short description of the ESL coordinator position follows below:

• Assure appropriate education for ESL students throughout the school.
  • Provide training and leadership in the area of ESL training for mainstream staff and for staff in the ESL department.
  • Provide push-in, small group, and individualized instruction as appropriate to meet students’ needs.
• Oversee English proficiency testing of students, both those preparing to enter the school and those who are already students in the ESL program.
• Design and oversee bridging programs for students who enter the school without necessary English skills to join mainstream core content classes.
• Work with administration to monitor and adjust (as needed) admissions requirement related to English level.
