Primary Learning Assistant

Lighthouse Primary School is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and nurturing Primary Learning Assistant to join our dynamic Primary staff team.

The assistant's main activities include:

• getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards; 
• keeping the classroom, a neat, welcoming and stimulating environment for the children;  
• listening to children read or reading to them; 
• helping children who need extra support; 
• helping teachers prepare materials that match development needs; 
• supervising group activities, including outings and sports events; 
• helping teachers manage class behaviour;  
• receive students in the morning at the entrance to the school and support them in getting to the classroom; 
• support and take part in sport and clubs offered by the school; 
• complete any other duties assigned by the teacher which relates directly to teaching and learning in the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent
• Current Certificate of Character
• Prior experience with children preferred
